Book promo

Hi dears. How are you all doing? I have been a bit busy getting things in place for my first short story. Lots of blunders as a first timer but getting there. So I know I have been boring you guys with the coming of my book so long and I guess, I felt a bit tired talking about it so long too. However, finally, it is around the corner and I am happy to have actually started my promotional videos. So… take a peek at the first one and let me know what your thoughts are. I look forward to celebrating with you all soon!!

Keep up your works as you continue to be you.

Singing my Haiku

Hi guys… So am hoping everyone is well and healthy after the hype of the corona virus. Of course it was not easy seeing so many casualties and saddened families. Sigh… I had to stop looking at it all for more than a week to find my balance. Then the killing of another man came into the spotlight, which is devastating in every way. May we find the peace and understanding that many of us seem to lack.

Well, I am trying to continue with my poems and writings here in our little twin island of Trinidad and Tobago.

I have planned on singing my haiku poems instead of reciting them out, so take a look at my first by clicking on the link below. Leave your comments if you wish.

Also, I wish to thank all of you who continue to support my work.

🌺OWN YOUR QUOTE 🌺

We are all able to motivate our own selves.

Some need a little more outer nudges to get going,

And motivation keeps building.

It’s just like a toddler, who
Takes himself up and

If no one bothers when he is fallen

He cries and cries and cries,

And tries and tries,

All because the toddler knows he can do it!

This alone shows us that motivation was built within. The will to try

Sometimes, when things do not go our way, we tend to lash out in angle we feel. Our self respect lags for a moment and we feel ashamed of our behavior. The turmoil we feel within can only be eradicated by cultivating inner peace. When we have learned to quiet our inner man, outer influence cannot take hold to tumble us. So, when the storms of life come, do not become a part of it but rather allow peace to see you through to the other side.

The pandemonium of 2020

The news came in waves with high pitched voices,

A novel virus on the horizon.

The cause a speculation, not sure of its intention,

Varied reasons came alive, throwing off lies and spies.

Public deaths and covered bodies

Droplets from sneezing grip young and elderly

Shook many an authority.

Flying to outer destinations, Covid19 scares each nation.

Awaiting to hear a first case scenario, pandemonium starts its latest show.

The great virus of 2020, did not appeal our senses rightly,

No stocking of food and vitamins, rather, toilet paper became the frenzy!

Living today, the greats will surely say,

“Off with their heads, it’s such a dismay.”

How can a world of people be so foolish,

Come to stock a commodity which can least prevent a crisis…?

God must have laughed this time around,

A tech savvy people who wear toilet paper as their crown.

Shame to be human this year!!

My sympathy to all those who lost loved ones to this present virus.

♥️I told him🍃♥️

When I said  I miss you
I do
It’s been over three years
I do
Our shared innocent moments though short and few
I do miss you
I do

You do not know what I have been through
You may think I have given up on you
You may not have understood
Though I know you try to maintain the respect you show
I still do miss you
I do

Sometimes I blame you in my thoughts
Sometimes I cry that you were too shy
To say outright what you felt
When I felt what I knew you do
I miss you
Yes I do

Turmoil was agitated in my soul
Another day may not have seen me whole
Not so much from missing you
But from enduring the woes I have been through
My throbbing heart was about to shatter
My last hope was to know if you felt its clutter
Miss you, I do

And yes, on that day when no one else existed
Though surrounded by their presence
The softest feather kiss you invested
Lifted a weight so deep seated, I no longer felt molested
You calmed my entire being.
I miss you
I do

I need to know in heart to heart
Is our future on this path?
Be bold with me and tell me so
Hold not back as before
And I will will embrace you
The man I know I adore…just saying what my heart explores.

Blinking Lights

Look at those beautiful ones on that old house!” I’ve never seen them before, maybe the old lady had died. One of the children that walked in a group of four pointed out as they walked around the small village looking at the Christmas lights on different houses.

“No she did not, I saw her yesterday but she looked very weak. Maybe someone had helped her”. One of the little boys exclaimed. Suddenly a small dog ran out from no where towards the fence barking at them. While he barked his little tail wagged wildly. He didn’t seem to want to hurt them but they didn’t pay close attention to him. They then took up a few small stones and threw them at the dog.

Soon as the stones crossed the fence, they changed into little gift packages. The little dog then ran on tiptoe-like to pick them up.

The children were amazed to see what had happened. They felt ashamed of themselves at the time of the stone pelting. The dog disappeared from sight after the last package was taken up. They looked at each other speechless. Knowing that they should not have stoned the fenced dog, they did not mention what had happened to anyone.

Time passed. Christmas day came by and all the little children were delighted to know what they had got for the holidays.

The less fortunate children however, were indifferent, as they knew they were not going to have any gifts at all.

But…. that morning they ran out of their separate homes screaming in delight. They had sparkling little gift packages in their hands. The four children who had thrown the stones at the dog, recognized the packages with surprise.

They learned that day, their misdeeds had spawned a happy moment for the less fortunate among them…

As they grew, they themselves remembered to never hurt animals and that others who were less fortunate were to be treated with kindness.

The end.

Gifts

The deaf wish to hear,

The blind wish to see,

The dumb want to speak,

And the lame want to walk.

But we who have it all,

Hear not properly,

See not, aspiringly,

Speak not positively,

Nor walk with purpose.

These gifts not granted to some,

A sad song sung for centuries,

Unable to be given freely,

We now fight through technology,

To establish a gift for the ungifted.
